Our Vision - Where have we been and where are we going?
From its inception, Adventist Fellowship did not just want to be another church. Instead, we had a vision to be the kind of church we find in the book of Acts. There are many qualities that are worth emulating from the early church; caring for people, passionate spirituality, devoted to prayer, a sense of unity, commitment to worship and many others. We believe all of these are possible only when we come into alignment with God's purpose for His church.
We believe our purpose is found in the parting words of Jesus to His disciples before he left this earth. They are recorded for us in Matthew 28:18-20
All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth."Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, "teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen.
The early church knew why they existed and they were absolutely committed to do the work Jesus commanded them to do. In these verses, Jesus made to them the promise of power and the promise of His presence if they would be obedient to His purpose for them. Propelled by a belief that Jesus would return soon, they went forth boldly proclaiming the gospel message to everyone who would listen.
Jesus may have spoken those words two thousand years ago, but His purpose for the church has not changed. Jesus said in Mathew 24:24
And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.
We invite you to join us as we wait and work for the soon return of our Savior.
